ABOUT
Asha Bhavan Special School and Home for the children with Special Needs, under the Archeparchy of Changancherry with the support of CMC was established in the year 1972 to provide special education and empower the children with special needs to bring them to the mainstream of life. Currently, Asha Bhavan is B grade school according to state government criteria. The school has the facility to provide special education to 150 students. Our vision is the holistic development of the children with special needs and to empower them to live a self-reliant and dignified life, and happily integrated into their communities.

When man who is living in the era of artificial intelligence being proud of himself without considering God’s gifts given to him by God and he ridicule his neighbours for their limitation, Asha Bhavan exists as a place of hope and solution for these wounded minds. For the last 4 decades, Asha Bhavan gives training to these differently abled children for their overall development through physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, sensory therapy and help them to overcome their difficulties and brings them to the mainstream of life. Over 50+ years of service
Asha Bhavan was established in November 22, 1972 and functions in Changanacherry Taluk of Kottayam district. The Arch diocese Changanacherry allotted a 2.5 acre plot at Ithithanam, a church of Changanacherry. Asha Bhavan is a non- profit, non- discriminatory entity established to serve the society at large with special focus on mentally impaired children. Over the last 50 years the activities gained momentum and great acceptance among the entire community cutting across all barriers of caste, creed and religion.
